Hands Up by Sheek Louch & Ghostface Killah on Grooveshark

Wu Block (No Shout) by Ghostface Killah ft Sheek Louc on Grooveshark

A founding member of the seminal rap group the Wu-Tang Clan, Ghostface Killah got his start serving as executive producer on many of the group's releases and rapping on its 1993 debut, Enter the Wu-Tang. After winning acclaim for his standout appearance on fellow Wu member Raekwon's Only Built 4 Cuban Linx (1995), he launched his solo career in 1996 with Ironman. Produced by ubiquitous Wu-Tang producer RZA, the album generated huge waves in the rap underground and debuted at No. 2 on the pop charts. Ghostface quickly won a reputation for his fast-paced flow and remarkable stream of consciousness narratives, eventually prompting several notable music publications to proclaim him among rap's finest storytellers.

After the smash success of his solo debut, Ghostface spent the end of the '90s working with other Wu-Tang members on various projects before finally dropping his sophomore full-length, Supreme Clientele, in early 2000. As the '00s pressed on, the rapper gradually began moving away from the Wu-Tang crew and began to release more solo material, signing with Def Jam in 2003 and releasing his hotly-anticipated label debut, The Pretty Toney Album, the following year. The disc featured collaborations with Missy Elliott and Jadakiss on the respective singles "Tush" and "Run." Before long, Ghostface became the most prolific record-maker in the Wu-Tang Clan pantheon, with subsequent solo releases like Fishscale (2006), More Fish (2006), The Big Doe Rehab (2007), Ghostdini: Wizard of Poetry in Emerald City (2009), and Apollo Kids (2010).

In addition to his productive solo career, Ghostface has kept up a steady stream of collaborations over the last several years. Tonight, he takes the stage at Highline Ballroom with D-Block member Sheek Louch and special guest Siagon to celebrate one such project: Wu-Block. Look for the disc to drop later this summer.
