Severed Rock Opera Ballet [just announced]

The Love Show and Corn Mo bring you an original rock opera ballet, based on the .357 Lover album The Purchase of The North Pole, which was inspired by the Jules Verne novel of the same name. The anthemic stadium rock of .357 Lover combines with visceral theatrical dance of The Love Show to explore the many loves of a man made up of many men. A metaphor for the human condition, this powerful show is an all-out rock ‘n’ roll celebration of the agony and ecstasy of the fragmented lives we all live!

Music and lyrics by Corn Mo, additional lyrics by Una Mimnagh

Choreography by Angela Harriell

Performed by .357 Lover and The Love Show dancers

Featuring a full, live chorus and a duo of daring aerialists

.357 Lover is an arena rock/glam rock band originally from Denton, TX. Moving to NYC, they became a backing band for both John Cameron Mitchell of Hedwig and Andrew WK, respectively.  In addition to supporting Andrew WK, they’ve supported They Might Be Giants and Ben Folds.  At the Ars Nova Theater, they staged the rock opera Alice Wakeman and are planning to do it again.  They also collaborated with Circus Una in the production of the rock musical Circus By the Sea.  .357 Lover consists of Ron Salvo (drums), Avi Fox-Rosen (guitar), Steve Dawson (guitar) Dave Wallin (bass), and Corn Mo (piano and vocals). .357 Lover’s dynamics include power-chord riffs and densely-packed, narrative structures, a homunculus of Queen and Tiny Tim. The first EP Your Favorite Hamburger is Cheeseburger was released in 2007. The long-playing sophomore effortDiorama of the Golden Lion was released in 2009. This year will see the third release The Purchase of the North Pole.
